Dr. Elysa Kahan

As soon as you meet Dr. Elysa Kahan, you will see that she truly enjoys being an orthodontist and creating beautiful smiles. Dr. Kahan takes pride in providing expert orthodontic care while ensuring that patients have a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding experience. She was voted one of Los Angeles' top orthodontists and Dr. Kahan is excited to continue to bring modern techniques to her patients.

Patient Care and Invisalign Coordinator
Hi I’m Alison! Im the clinical coordinator here at Kahan Orthodontics. I love this role because it allows me to continue to talk, laugh, and continue to build relationships with our patients and families, but also allows me to utilize my leadership skills and keep the clinic running smoothly. I’ve been a orthodontic assistant for 5 years now and couldn't imagine myself doing anything else! I have had braces...a few times, so I love being able to relate and understand our patients. It's truly a wonderful feeling watching someone's confidence and self- esteem change as they achieve a perfect smile.
Outside of work, I usually spend time with my boyfriend, Lyth, and our two Morkies, Lucy and Pachino. Also in my free time I enjoy working out, shopping, traveling, and cooking.
Alyssa Velazquez
Clinical Assistant
Hi i’m Alyssa! Im a Clinical assistant here at Kahan Orthodontics. I provide chairside assistance, and support Dr. Kahan as she works on patients. I help with placing and removing braces and appliances. I also take X-rays, photos, and impressions. My favorite part of being an Orthodontic assistant is that I enjoy getting to know our patients and being a part of our wonderful team as we transform smiles. If I had to pick a favorite part of my job it would be seeing our patients reveal their new smiles at the end of treatment and sharing in the fun and excitement! Teamwork is a huge part of a thriving orthodontic office and I'm proud to be part of our amazing team!
Outside of the office I enjoy hikes, beach and family/friend hang outs! My boyfriend Anthony and I also love trying out new food places and the movies.
Ruth Lavaeddin
Treatment Coordinator
Hi I’m Ruth! I’m the office manager and treatment coordinator at Kahan Orthodontics. It's my pleasure to guide our team to provide the BEST orthodontic experience possible, and I’ve been doing it since Kahan Orthodontics first opened its doors. My favorite part of my day is teaching our patients about braces and Invisalign and helping them choose the perfect orthodontic modality to fit their lifestyle and budget. I’m a pro at verifying dental insurance and helping patients maximize their orthodontic benefits/flex spending accounts so that orthodontic treatment is affordable for everyone. It’s a privilege to be able to see our patient’s smiles transform from start to finish and I love seeing the confidence that a new smile gives our patients!
When I’m not at the office, I love spending family time with my husband, Steve, and our 2 kids, Jacob and Hannah. I also enjoy hiking, biking and traveling.
